We need to significantly lift productivity in construction to deliver the nation’s unprecedented infrastructure pipeline and fill an estimated 105,000 jobs by 2023. Without a change to our current practices, long working hours, poor mental health and a lack of diversity will limit our ability to deliver the infrastructure pipeline on time and on budget.
Setting a new standard
Changing culture in construction
We are working to deliver a Culture Standard to deliver great careers for workers and an economic boost for the nation. The Culture Standard directly addresses recognised cultural problems that are preventing construction from being an employer of choice. Industry customers, including government, can support this cultural shift by adopting the Standard as part of their procurement requirements whenever they buy construction services.
